Trusting in His Promises

When my heart is filled with hope and every promise comes my way
When I feel Your hands of grace rest upon me
Brian Johnson

" We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose"
 (Romans 8:28)

What a tremendous claim Paul makes in this verse! This verse doesn't say "We know that in some things", "most things", or even "joyful things"but "ALL things".  I find great comfort in this promise! This promise spans from the very smallest detail of life to the most important.

God works - this is in the present tense. Meaning He does not say "worked"or "will work", it is a continuous process.  I am learning this lesson of faith, "You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand." J.R.Macduff

"The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want."( Ps. 23:1) It is all the supposing that I do that make me miserable. I need to give that up and simply trust.  "Be content with what you have, because God has said, " Never will I leave you;never will I forsake you." So I say with confidence, "The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid, What can man do to me?" (Heb. 13:5-6)

I am trusting the Lord will continue to guide my steps on this journey, even though I am not be able to see the path clearly right now He will continue to shine enough light for my next step.

I can't believe how fast this month is going by. By the end of this month I will be done teaching ESL classes and will be taking a break from teaching the children in Los Guidos. The lady that I go and serve with in Los Guidos is going to Canada for a about a month to help her daughter get settled for college in the August.

This month I have been busy visiting ministries here in Costa Rica. It has been exciting to see the work the Lord has, is , and is going to do here. On Thursday it is time to renew my visa again. This time I am going to combine this necessary trip with a visit to a ministry in La Cieba, Honduras.  Please continue to pray for me on this journey!

Morning Heather,
Good to hear from you hon, and glad things are going well.
Romans 8:28 has over the years become one of our very favorite scriptures and one we claim in all things....
He truly does just what He says!

The Lord unfolds our steps to his plan like a scroll a lil at a time.
Think sometimes if we knew what was up ahead we might just be too overwhelmed or frightened, and He knows that!! so He is gracious to us by doing it step by step.

Once I heard a man named Dr. Bill
Gilham when he was talking about God's sovereignty, say, That God sees everything from a helicopter perspective, we only see it event by event going by like a parade.
That has helped me so much over the years to know that God knows the beginning and the end, so he knows what is ahead of us that we don't know about, and we have seen him so many times and realized it later, how He has gone before us and prepared the way for certain things, and it is just so comforting to know His eye is always on us, and taking care of us like a Good Dad, only much much better than a Good Dad, He is the Perfect Father!!

Will sure be praying for your trip to Hondurus hon. Hope it is a good,
helpful and fruitful time!

Love and Blessings,
Nellie

These verses were such an encouragement to me today! Thank you for sharing them. I've just written them down...again... to remind myself of the wonderful truth of our wonderful God!!

Go well on your trip to Honduras... you really are on an adventure! You are prayed for.

(Oh, and I had to smile at your reference to the "present tense"... you really are getting this grammar thing!)
