New Idea

Man's mind, once stretched by a new idea,
 never regains its original dimensions.
 ~Oliver Wendell Holmes

I have now been studying Spanish in Costa Rica for 5 months! Wow time has flown by!.

 Accumulative Learning
You can't learn a language and expect to be able to compartmentalize. You can't learn a language by cramming for tests. It all builds and comes together, that is why laying a strong foundation is vital. Last semester I was able to fill in the cracks of my foundation of the Spanish language. Then I started to build on it.
Our teacher gave us the above graph to show us the verb tenses we have learned. Until this morning we only knew the top section. Now we know the whole sheet after two hours of class today! We are now using all the 9 verb tenses and their exceptions and of course the exceptions of exceptions. We are starting to study subjunctive. To be completely honest I don't even know what that word means or how it is used in English, but I will learn. This does not mean I am fluent in Spanish, I still have a lot learn and more importantly practice speaking.
Annunciation is so important now! My mind is being stretched and my knowledge of the Spanish language is becoming more developed. I can't go back! I can only move forward....so here I go taking one step at a time!
