This Wednesday was a time of celebration! I have had the privilege of teaching an ESL class for beginners the past eight weeks. On average there were 10 ladies that came every week to my class. We had a wonderful time learning together. I have enjoyed learning more about the English language and phonics. Since the class was a beginner level I needed teach a majority of the class time in Spanish. The ladies were not accustomed to listening/hearing English. The ladies helped me in my Spanish studies as well and were a huge encouragement in this process.
Cynthia and her husband Chris are in charge of the ESL ministry. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to work alongside fellow LAM missionaries.
My students were excited to receive diplomas of participation.

Hi Heather,
Great to hear from you Hon, as always.
What a neat opportunity that was...
I am assuming the ESL stands for English spanish language??
So neat you were able to use your spanish like that, looks like a lovely group of ladies too!
Well, guess you will be getting a lil rest here soon, know you will miss the children, you will build, as I am sure you already know, such bonds with them. I know that from when we used to teach childrens Sunday School, and also cause I have 2 sister-in-laws who are teachers in the school system.
Prayed for all your requests and will continue to pray, hope you have a great summer hon.
Any plans to go home for a visit or anything??
Take Care,
Love and Blessings, Nellie
